Warring In Peace
There was a time, back a few years ago, when I finally became aware of the TOTAL corruption in the world. Part of it was the way the people I worked for did things; part of it was the general injustice against those who wanted to make things better; part of it was the lies and hidden manipulation of the world controllers. In the end, it left me bitter, angry, confused. I just wanted the world to GO AWAY AND LEAVE ME ALONE. That was not to be. Jesus said, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." (Joh 16:33) Ahhh - PEACE. Yes, indeed, there can be peace when we understand that ALL OF THIS IS TEMPORAL AND THERFORE TEMPORARY. We are here for a time, to learn, to experience, and to manifest the power of God to save. Set against eternity the time in this world is not even a drop in the ocean of what was, is and will be. The battle was fought out in the spiritual a long time ago and Jesus won the victory. Satan lost, and he is a sore loser. So, yes indeed, there is much ado about nothing going on in this world and those who JUST DON'T GET IT will still try to make the Luciferian scenario play out. But it flows over and around those who walk in the spirit. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. (1Jo 4:4-7) This is not some passive, stoic acceptance of evil. We are on the battlefield, fully engaged in a spiritual war, not running for cover. The evil is real and we stand against it when we see it. We fight the fight to the end, never give in, but at the same time realize that it is only temporary. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. (Rom 8:14-18) When the evils of this world press down and seems like more than we can bear, that is the time to grab your Bible, and read, read, read until the inner peace comes. We have a treasure of God's promises, laid out in scripture over and over again, that He is with us in this trial. We follow in the footsteps of Jesus and nothing that we face is any worse that what He went through. In time - with prayer, with study, with understanding, you can get to the point where it doesn't continuously drive you to fits of anger anymore. There is a state of peace that passes understanding. Reach for it. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.(Phi 4:6-9)
