"God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;" (Heb 1:1-2)

Do you know what I am thinking?

No. Not that.

See, you can't read my mind. To know my mind you must have my words. I reveal my mind by speaking.

"And God said, Let there be light: and there was light." (Gen 1:3)

What was in the mind of God was made manifest when He spoke it. Unlike our words, the Word of God creates. His Word is "existentially true" - which is a fancy way of saying, the Word spoken by God, is reality itself. His Word is the Creation; the Creation is the manifest Word of God.

Seeing the Creation, man should have known the Creator. But, man turned from the Creator and only saw the Creation.

"And God spake all these words, saying, . . ." (Exo 20:1)

The Law given to Moses is God speaking also and therein He reveals His mind as to what righteousness looks like. Had the Israelites lived those commandments, the whole of that nation would have been a living display of what God's righteousness looks like. They were to be the living Word of God, expressed through His Law, and thus an "oracle" that reveals God to man.

But, they did not understand and turned from the Law into idolatry. They did not understand and sought to be righteous in themselves by their works under the Law. They did not understand that the Law reveals God's righteousness and man's unrighteousness. They did not understand that man is righteous only because of faith in the Word of God.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was GodIn him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not... And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us," (Joh 1:1,4-5,14)

The WORD, that created the light, and was the light, that spoke the law, and was the law, was revealed in flesh and blood. He walked among us, spoke, healed, worked miracles. And, He gave up His life that we might have life. And He asks that we put our trust, our faith, in Him and His Word. God's promise to us is that all those that have faith in the Living Word of God will be saved. Those who do not are condemned by their own iniquity.

"And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." (Joh. 3:19)

The Light.
The Law.
Jesus.

"But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people." (Jer 31:33)

Let Jesus, the Word, into your heart so that you will be filled with His Light.

Now I have spoken and you know what I am thinking.
